B-Back In Time!

(New fab garage punk band from Italy, a true descendant of the Sick Rose and the finest 80s garage punk bands of Europe! Obviously inspired by the 80s Italian garage scene, B-Back managed to create a unique album to fulfill every caveman’s and cavegurl’s needs: Fuzz, demented farfisa & caveteen vocals! The B-Back were born in October 2003 when Madison Wheeler (drummer and voice) dropped his previous band, Ray Daytona & The Googobombos. Thanks to his talent as a songwriter, which you can appreciate since his first experiences (PIKES in PANIC – I Barbieri), Madison wrote five songs and got in touch with a guitarist (from a Florence garage band called The Gloves) to arrange them. Frank Croco accepted and took some tipically Sixties-style songs with him. After three months of work John Amato (guitarist from The Quarrymen) joined the band along with Paul “The Muppet” on bass. After eight months spent on rehearsals, B-Back got in Robert Vogel’s studio to record this album. Robert is an old friend of the band who recorded the Barbieri album “Se Vuoi Me” in 1989 and who gave a great contribution to B-Back’s sound, even playing the FARFISA COMPACT organ on the record.

"in time!" has been recorded and mixed at the Hammer Studio (Arezzo – Italy)  in May 2004. It has been Mastered at West Link Studio in Cascina (Pisa) – Italy in Septmber 2004. Produced by B-Back e Robert Vogel. Issued from Area Pirata.

Massimo Del Pozzo – Misty Lane 03/05

The 80’s garage revival seems to be more and more inspiring for quite a lot of bands out there.
B-Back is a cool act from TUscany, that sounds like the best bands on Electric Eye REcords in the mid 80’s and will certainly bring you memories of garage icons like the Sick Rose, The Electric Shields, and Pikes in Panic. Sure I hear lotsa more influences in here…
Miracle Workers ("The Sonic Way") and even the Steppes ("The Jack") etc. All tracks are originals except "Trip", a nice version of "Lazy John" and the classic "Stepping Stone".
"Who is this girl" and the more power-poppy "Not Happy at all" are two of my faves in here.
While you’ll read this, the demo will be official releases on Area Pirata (ad eslewhere in this issue) so watch out for them.

Maximum R’n 03/05

Italian garage rock that exceeded my expectations (its catchy stuff with ringing guitars and tough riffs).
The vocals grate when they hit the high register, but it’s excusable. Yeah, it’s a bit on the Brand X side of things, but it works for me.
Unlike a lot of other Beatle Boots groups that I could mention, B-BACK actually back up their rock’n’roll with some muscle.
