Gun Club – Death Party

(BACK IN PRINT ON VINYL! After a personel shake-up, ‘Death Party’ (1983) is the only recording by this line-up of THE GUN CLUB. In addition to Jeffrey Lee Pierce on guitar and vocals, there are Dee Pop (Bush Tetras) on drums, Jim Duckworth (Panther Burns) on lead guitar, Jimmy Uliana on bass and Texas Linda Jones on backing vocals and screams. This is a strange and unholy record. ‘Death Party’ (the track) was written by Pierce together with SF-based band Flipper. Other notable songs are ‘The House On Highland Avenue’ and ‘The Lie’, both of which rate as some of the strongest reecordings in the band’s history.
