"Second Skin" is the new album by CUT and their sixth studio full length since the beginnings of the band in 1996. The album is being released on February 20 2017 by Dischi Bervisti, Area Pirata, Cut’s own Bare Bones Productions and Liverpool’s Antipop Records for the UK territory.

The record will feature many Italian and international guests: among them there’s Mike Watt from Iggy & The Stooges, Minutemen, Il Sogno del Marinaio and many others lending his bass sound to one track. This release is celebrating more than twenty years of uncompromising musical activity for the Bologna band and their concoction of garage rock, punk, noise and post punk.

6 ème album pour ce trio italien qui existe depuis 21 ans ! Nom, titre, pochette… dès le départ tout concours à ce que je sois surpris de retrouver cet album sur Area Pirata Rds (certes c’est une co-prod…). Musicalement on aurait bien vu Cut chez Swami Rds tant les italiens font penser à Rocket From The Crypt. Les cuivres dans leur Post Hc mélodique tirant un Rock Garage tendu et incandescent favorisent cette comparaison. De fait Cut est totalement un groupe des 90’s et s’assume en tant que tel ! Pratiquant un Rock Indie comme on savait le manier à l’époque mais débarrassé de ses tics de production. Ce disque bénéficiant du son puissant comme les meilleurs savent le faire actuellement ! Cut est donc à ranger avec les meilleurs groupes qui savent (ou savaient) mélanger finesse mélodique, rythmiques variées et grande intensité émotionnelle, type Hot Hot Heat / Hot Water Music etc. ça met la barre haute. Et Cut saute en dessus !
