The Backdoor Society The Backdoor Society

(The music of The Backdoor Society is strongly influenced by the Dutch Beat sound represented by bands like Outsiders and Q65, by whom they were inspired to write their own originals.

If you love Dutch Beat, the wild sixties R&B and the "Stones-like ballads" you can’t help but be impressed by the Backdoor Society!

The Backdoor Society are another band that take inspiration from a vibrant 60s scene. The music of The Backdoor Society is strongly influenced by the Dutch Beat sound of bands such as the Outsiders and Q65. Out NOW via Area Pirata records, their debut album is the sound of the Amsterdam bars and clubs circa 1966. Its an album packed full of tight early R&B inspired songs that have echoes of the Stones, The Pretty Things and The Yardbirds finest moments. Full of punchy songs such as ‘Go On Home, ‘Oh Girl and ‘Whats On Your Mind and slow burners such as ‘Try To Understand and ‘Better Than Me, its a record that mixes the sound of wild sixties R&B with more down tempo Stones-like songs.

Matt – Bananas Magazine #18 / Summer ’19

Italy’s Nederbeat obsessed cats have release quite an impressive debut LP! Fresh off a fantastic single on Hidden Volume, the LP just expands on what these guys do. "The Magic’s Gone," is the opening track, but the magic is here folks. Tough one two punch and then we have a super mid-60s Stones ballad, "Pitch Me Out," except the guitar is actually in tune! "You" is a great moody folk-rocker. "Go On Home," is a cool Diddley infused rocker. "Better Than Me," is another moody piece that closes the album in a perfect way. They really succeed with these moody pieces, Giovanni’s vocals are perfect for these tracks. What I suggest is, pick up this LP and their HiVo single and make that the life you live baby.
