The Upper Fifth – Lyin’ to you / Way too blue

From the Ashes of one of the 1980’s most successful Mod Bands “MAKIN’ TIME” – we were given the Charlatans, but it’s down to the unmistakable vocals of Mark McGounden (or Syd to the likes of you and me) that the Upper Fifth keep the flames burning.

In September 1997 the Upper Fifth contributed their version of the Marriot/Lane track “Afterglow” to an Adrenalin Records Small Faces Tribute EP, the proceeds of which were given to the estate of Ronnie Lane – helping to bring the name into the forefront which together with regular gigs at London’s 100 Club helped strike the agreement between a great Mod band and the biggest Mod label in the Country. Two storming tracks which basically mean that if you liked Makin’ Time YOU’LL LOVE the Upper Fifth … check it out.
