The Vipers Were The First ‘garage’ Band In Nyc, Formed In 1981 By Ex-fleshtones Producer Paul M. Martin And Occasional Fleshtones Sax Man Jon Weiss. Having Played Gigs With The Ramones, Alex Chilton, The Fleshtones, Cramps, Chesterfield Kings, Fuzztones And Many Others, The Vipers Toured The Us And Canada Continually From 1983-1987, Calling The Peppermint Lounge In Nyc ‘home’. Other Legendary Gigs At C.b.g.b., The Ritz, Irving Plaza And The Vipers’ Own Thursday Night Cave Stomps At The Infamous Dive Cemented The Vipers As One Of New York’s Premier Bands Of The Time. Two Songs From Outta The Nest!, ‘tears (only Dry)’ And ‘cheated And Lied’ Appeared On The Rhino Records Cd Boxed Set ‘children Of Nuggets’ In 2005. The Vipers Were Featured In Issue 80 Of Shindig!
