Caltiki Amazzoni

(Caltiki are a garage rock band founded by Tommaso Di Giulio (vocals and bass), Giulio Filippini (guitar) and Marco Montesano (drums).

During the summer of 2017 an anarchic, free and liberating project was born due to the musical obsessions of their three members in, oriented overall on live performances.
Like the 1959’s monster of the science fiction film from which they are named, the Caltiki are an exotic creature with a mutant identity.

Psychedelia, surf, glam and punk are mixed with each other in the band’s songs under the banner of a contaminated rock n’roll where the cult of the 60s, melodic research and many guitars coexist. All with lyrics in Italian language.
A Californian tourist visiting Rome, after a concert of the trio, approached and described the sound as: Ty Segall meets Lucio Battisti. It couldn’t have been more flattering and precise than that.

Those who enter the world of the Caltiki must expect a primordial, lysergic and timeless experience, where the invitation to dance and let go meets the taste for a visionary narration.

Il trio nasce nell’estate del 2017 con far confluire le ossessioni musicali dei tre membri in un progetto anarchico, libero e liberatorio, orientato soprattutto su una marcata fisicità dei live.
Come il mostro del film di fantascienza del 1959 dai cui prendono il nome, i Caltiki sono una creatura esotica dall’identità mutante.
Psichedelia, surf, glam e punk si mescolano e si inseguono nelle canzoni della band all’insegna di un rock n’roll contaminato in cui convivono il culto degli anni ’60, ricerca melodica e tante chitarre. Il tutto con liriche in italiano.
Un turista californiano in visita a Roma, dopo un concerto del trio, si è avvicinato e ne ha de-scritto il sound come: Ty Segall meets Lucio Battisti. Non avrebbe potuto essere più lusinghiero e preciso di così.
Chi entra nel mondo dei Caltiki si deve aspettare un’esperienza primordiale, lisergica e fuori dal tempo, dove l’invito al ballo e a lasciarsi andare incontra il gusto per una narrazione visionaria.
Il loro esordio discografico è intitolato Amazzoni ed è un concept album in cui ogni canzone porta il nome di una donna diversa.
