2021 will bring back the Views, a neo-psychedelic band founded in 1984 in Brescia by Giovanni Ferrario, one of the pioneers of the Italian underground at the time wholly to be invented.
Reunited during the spring 2020 in the original line up (Ferrario on vocals and guitar, Nico Meteo on bass, Dario Pironi on drums and the brothers Livio and Luca Ruggenenti respectively on piano and guitar) the group recorded last October seven new songs which soon will see the light in an album titled Homo Dust and Bumps, released by Area Pirata / We Were Never Being Boring on limited numbered vinyl.
Apparently, it’s just psychedelic-rock, or whatever you want to call it (the band never liked to be labeled). Songs recorded live and mixed urgently at Simone Piccinelli’s La Buca Recording Club. The electric guitars are always to the fore. The complementary and dialoguing lines of the two guitarists sometimes come together in a noisy bubble, supporting obscure and visionary lyrics.
At the same time very clear and straight, to expose the corrosive inconsistency of these times, the sins of the powerful, but at the same time even those of the "talented meres" who populate social media. Intriguing that the Views manage to do all this with the ease and energy that distinguished them in the past.
Therefore, despite their not-so-young age, we can speak of rebirth and evolution
